I recently got a gym membership for the first time, and I've been shocked with what I've found while spending time in the locker room and the showers. Granted, I didn't do the athletic thing in either high school or college, so this is my first experience (I'm 24).

Now this may come off as homophobic but I’ve personally experienced some very uncomfortable advances from gay men in steam rooms in other gyms I’ve been to and have refrained from using saunas for over a year.

TLDR; I visited a YMCA which I found out has a major reputation for older guys cruising/being creepy. Had a great open shower and nice renovated facilities, but the gross behavior pretty much ruined the experience. Despite a fairly recent renovation, the locker rooms still had open showers.
